PINTO LEAGUE 8U
From Fun to Fundamentals
Building Skills Confidence Teamwork — One Swing at a Time
The Pinto 8U™ League is the perfect next step for young players ready to grow beyond beginner play and develop real baseball and softball skills — all while having fun in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Designed for players ages 5 to 8 (minimum age 3 in Baseball, 4 in Girls Softball), the Pinto League focuses on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and keeping the joy of the game alive.
Here, learning and participation come first — not standings or trophies. Pinto is where players begin to understand teamwork, discipline, and game strategy, while still playing in a fun and nurturing atmosphere.
Seaside PONY
The Pinto 8U™ League introduces players to Coach Pitch, Machine Pitch, or Player Pitch formats depending on the needs and structure of the local program.
Each approach allows kids to improve their timing, hitting, and fielding skills at their own pace — with plenty of encouragement and support. Coaches are dedicated to teaching the game the right way, focusing on technique, teamwork, and respect for the sport and each other.
A Smooth Transition From Tee Ball
If your community doesn’t offer a Shetland (Tee-Ball) division, Pinto is the ideal starting point. Early in the season, some players may begin using a batting tee before transitioning into Coach Pitch or Machine Pitch games later on. This gradual approach ensures that every player, regardless of experience, feels confident and successful.
It’s all about progress, not perfection — helping each player take the next step in their baseball or softball journey.

Team Spirit Without the Pressure
Pinto 8U™ teams often wear caps and t-shirts instead of full uniforms — a fun and affordable way to give players the excitement of being part of a real team. For many, this is their first time experiencing the pride of putting on team colors and stepping onto the field with friends.
Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child matters.
Development Over Competition
At this level, the emphasis remains on teaching and development, not on winning championships. Coaches focus on helping each player grow in ability and confidence, both as athletes and as individuals.
Every effort is made to ensure that all registered players are placed on a team and that everyone gets to participate in each game — because learning happens through experience, not from the sidelines.
