What is Seaside PONY Baseball & Softball?

Seaside PONY Baseball & Softball is a registered non-profit organization and part of the PONY Northern California Coast Region. We provide local youth with a fun, safe, and competitive environment to learn baseball and softball fundamentals while building teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.

What does PONY stand for?

PONY is an acronym for Protect Our Nation’s Youth. The program was created to ensure fair, age-appropriate play and to help children grow into healthier and happier adults through baseball and softball.

What makes PONY different from other youth leagues?

PONY organizes divisions by age groups, not grade level, so kids play with peers their own age. The field sizes, pitching distances, and rules are all adjusted for each division to match skill level and safety standards.

For example:

  • Shetland (6U): Ages 5–6

  • Pinto (8U): Ages 5–8

  • Mustang (10U): Ages 7–10

  • Bronco (12U): Ages 9–12

This ensures players develop confidence, skills, and love for the game at every stage.
